No product gives its best until it has been running for a while. The process is called "break-in".
It shows only a fraction of its performance, often very little of its musicality, and its overall characteristics, such as its bandwidth or timbre, will change, sometimes considerably.
Here is a list of break-in times, based on our own experience and that of our customers.
The first figure represents the minimum time in hours before any serious listening (warning to the impatient who unpacks a new product and judge it before performing the break-in!), the second figure the longest time during which an improvement has been observed.
A question mark means that we haven't yet completed the estimates.
There are many break-in albums available, in the form of files, compact discs or vinyl records.
